There will be a single Principal Investigator (PI) for each application. Although NIH has no plans to recognize the “CO-PI” designation, key principal scientific and community partners may serve as co-investigators. NIH’s implementation of electronic submissions and multiple PIs has not yet extended to R24s. See: http://era.nih.gov/ElectronicReceipt/strategy_timeline.htm#1, http://grants.nih.gov/grants/multi_pi/index.htm, and http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-06-069.html for more details.
