If he wasn’t wealthy then he wouldn’t be the Conservative leader, simple as that. Lotus Eater says he knows how to make money, but his wealth is handed down from his family, he’s never had to do anything to earn it. The wealth the rich know how to make is on how to make themselves richer. So don’t get someone like Cameron mixed up with someone like Alan Sugar or Richard Branson, they were entrepreneurs who truly know how to make money. So perhaps Lotus Eater, if you want someone who truly knows how to make money, then one of them should be Prime Minister. Cameron’s basic skills are as a Public Relations man, he’s head of the party as they consider him the best person available to convince the electorate that their party for the rich has changed. Well it’s working on a lot of people, but it’s not working on me. I’m a very good judge of character, and can see through the spin that this piece of crap is trying to sell me. Well said. Of course he wouldn’t be leader. These people think it’s their divine right to rule. It’s the good old class system. Make no mistake, one can be as educated as one likes but without establishment connections you won’t get far. I know an old Etonian who agrees whole heartedly with that statement. Buddha (a strange attitude given that Buddha is enlightened) I’m afraid you are slightly mistaken. The Prime Minister has a Phd. It’s pretty damn difficult to be more educated than that. Poor hand writing means nothing. Lotus Eater, you are more educated than that are you? Gordon Brown an idiot? I think not.

Plenty of Labour MPs went to public schools, so it’s not just the Tories. Also, there have been a number of Conservative leaders who did not go to Eton or one of the massively well known private schools, like Thatcher, for example. As a member of the Tory party, the people I know at my local Association mostly did not go to public schools, most were educated by the state (mostly at grammar schools, but that’s a different matter). So maybe the current leadership is a bit like that, but as long as they are the best person for the job, who cares? I’m sure the future leaders won’t be an ‘old boys club’, looking at the up and coming people in the party at the moment.
