Engineering studentQ. Is Dordts program different than a large universitys?
A. We think so. Obviously we’re smaller. That means that you’ll know your professors personally, and they’ll be there to help you with problems and projects. You’ll also have easy access to lab and computer equipment and no signing up for limited hours like you might find in many universities. You probably won’t have quite the variety of specialized courses or lab equipment that you might in a large university. But we believe that our broader, less specialized engineering education is a better approach than that of many universities. Engineering at Dordt College is taught from a Christian perspective and in a liberal arts context. You’ll not only develop technical competence, you’ll also get the interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills that are so critical in modern industry, where engineering and management often overlap.
