Email from Nigeria saying I inherited money they havent ask for anything yet, is it a scam?
It’s a scam, at some point they will ask for your bank details and then they will set up an account in India or other parts of Asia with your name and account number and then they will empty your account – or the less sophisticated version they just ask for money to cover “costs” – they send mllions out and get and a small percentage of gullible responses which is enough to make a tidy income. Most recent one I have seen claims I have won money on a Canadian Lottery (they just copied some info off the web and made it look real). I have forwarded several to the Nigerian government but they do nothing. There should be a UK Government managed filter to fix this. Not all Nigerians are bad people – I worked there for several years – I am not Nigerian nor do I have African ancestry.
