EL talked me through this when I reinstalled Warchest, youd think they would have made it a bit easier eh?
OK, first rename Firefly Studios folder (usually C/Windows/Start Menu/Programs) so have it stored safely out of the way. Go to the Stronghold folder and backup all .map files .sav files and the ‘pc.cfg’ and ‘stronghold.cfg’ files, put them in the temp folder. Go to the Stronghold Crusader folder and do the same, but also include the ‘skmasters’ file, saving these to the temp folder as well. For both the above actions, remember the original locations! Unistall the original games and then install from the Warchest CD’s. Once they’re installed, you can put back all the removed files and your game should be just as before. It would be prudent to keep the temp folder with the files for a while just to make sure everything is working OK. A couple of the files may be duplicated with the new installation, so when you try put them back it will ask which file you want, IIRC I kept the ‘new’ ones here and all seems OK for me.
