A. The Digital Telephone Enabler (DTE) connects between your phone handset and your modem, fax machine, or teleconferencer allowing these devices to dial out on a digital phone system. To connect follow these steps: 1. Remove the coiled cord of the phone handset from the telephone base unit and connect to the DTE s jack. 2. Connect the short RJ9 cable on the DTE to the telephone base unit where the handset cord was previously connected. 3. Connect your modem RJ11 cable to the DATA jack on the DTE. Review the user guide (available online) for additional assistance.
