ALL of the segments/fields/elements that are classified as REQUIRED in the HIPAA Implementation Guides (i.e., 837P 00401A1, NCPDP 5.1) must be sent by the submitter. In some instances that are identified in the MN Uniform Companion Guides, the receiver may choose to not use the submitted element in the processing of the transaction.
