The wavelength of the laser reading DVD discs is the same as the wavelength necessary for reading CD-RW discs. That is why these CD-RW discs can be read normally. CD-R discs are produced differently. To be able to read CD-R discs, you will need a laser with a different wavelength. The laser currently in the DVD 10 is not able to send light with different wavelength and that is the reason for not being able to read CD-R discs. All our new DVD players will be able to read CD-R discs.
