As far as this season, there aren’t too many Class AAA guys the Angels will count on, but there could be appearances from several players who have already seen time in the majors — Mathis, Kendry Morales, Dustin Moseley, Phil Seibel and Chris Resop. As far as the next big wave of players, Brandon Wood is feeling more and more comfortable at third base and could fight for a job in 2008 but to see him in the majors this season would be a bit of a stretch. Pitcher Nick Adenhart is always asked about when the Angels are in trade discussions and shortstop Sean Rodriguez had a terrific season at Rancho Cucamonga last year. However, both are at least two years away from the majors. Other minor leaguers to keep an eye on, but who probably won’t figure into the Angels’ plans this season are pitchers Jose Arredondo, Ryan Aldridge, Alex Serrano and Tommy Mendoza, catcher Bobby Wilson and outfielder Terry Evans.
