During the development process of the forms, was the medical community allowed the opportunity to provide input?
The Board actively sought and received a great deal of input from the medical community during this redesign. We met with a group of providers on Nov. 8, 2007 at the beginning of this process. Between Dec. 11, 2007, and Jan. 24, 2008, the Board posted the revised C-2, C-3, C-4, and C-4.2 forms on its web site for input from the general public, including medical providers. The Board received 340 survey responses. Last March, the Board contracted with a focus group expert to design and facilitate three different focus group sessions across the state just for medical providers, and feedback was collected from the medical providers in attendance. After each step in the process, suggestions were evaluated and changes were incorporated. We have also met with groups representing the health care community, such as the Medical Society of the State of New York and the Chiropractic Assoc. We continue to receive and consider correspondence, as well.
