During an interview, is it appropriate to give the interviewer copies of past employee reviews?
Answer Hello: During the interview the interviewer is the “lead” and will dictate how much time he/she will spend with you. You can certainly tell the interviewer that you have your performance reviews with you if they would be interested in looking at them and see what they say. Or, you could quote from the review, “In my last performance review, my boss said my organizational skills were exceptional and he didn’t know how he could ever get along without me.” I think that is a better way than dragging out a lot of paper for the interviewer to read with limited time. Of course, if they ask for them then that is a different story – pull them out – but only the best ones.
