During a night terror, could the child be dreaming about a past-life death?
No, past lives are a fabrication in the minds of stupid and/or gullible people. Night terrors, on the other and, are very real and, in general, the person does not remember actually dreaming of anything. They may not be related to dreaming at all…but more to that sudden feeling of falling that many of us sometimes get as we are falling asleep. For whatever reason, your body gives you a sudden shot of adrenaline and you wake up screaming. Both my wife and son suffer from night terrors. My wife never remembers dreaming of anything in particular. It often occurs as a reaction to noise in the bedroom…made by me or one of the animals.
As someone who still experiences night terrors, I would say probably not. A night terror is an error in the sleep process…there are certain steps the human brain goes through to fall asleep, dream and recharge properly. A person with true night terrors dont follow the steps properly. So they have dreams. If you look at the site I attached, you will find that so many people who have night terrors have the same Theme dreams….meaning they are all similar to eachother. Chances of a child having a “repressed” memory causing a true night terror is far to slim. Now reoccuring nightmares that a child wakes easily from might be caused by a memory they are having…whether its a past life or not, I wouldnt guess to say.
