DSL Complete uses PPPoE, what does that mean?
DSL Complete uses an authentication protocol called PPPoE (Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet). Relying on two widely accepted standards, Ethernet and the point-to-point protocol (PPP), PPPoE setup requires virtually no more knowledge other than that required for standard dial-up access. With PPPoE, you will have to specify your FrogNet username and password to connect your DSL service. You will only have to enter the login information once. If you’re using a router, it should support PPPoE, so you’ll enter and save your username and password in the router. If you’re using a Westell 2200 DSL modem, you will enter and save your username and password in the modem. If you’re a techie, and you know all about PPPoE, great! If you’re not sure what this means and want to know how PPPoE will work with your current setup, don’t hesitate to call us and we’ll be happy to assist you.
