Driver improvement programs?
Promoting traffic safety has been the cornerstone of The Safety Council’s education and training initiatives. These programs are designed to encourage safe and courteous driving habits by enhancing an individual’s defensive driving abilities. Through an agreement with the State of Florida, the Safety Council sponsors defensive driving courses for traffic violators who do not want points on their licenses. The Safety Council also offers a variety of driving improvement programs for individuals, commercial drivers, truck drivers, mature drivers, motorcycle operators, one-on-one driving lessons and high school driver education. The Safety Council provides the Drug Alcohol Traffic Awareness [DATA] course required by Florida law since 1990. The DATA Program was created based upon DUI Offender suggestions on how to prevent future DUIs and is required for all fist-time drivers’ license applicants of Florida.
