I suppose one of the main things is that there is a shortage of primary care doctors, family physicians and general practitioners all over the world. That applies in Australia and rural New South Wales just as much. We see English doctors as being very well trained GPs. There’s a great opportunity for doctors from the UK to be able to experience not only the medical and social culture of Australia, but also the rewards from the sorts of things that they will be able to do as a doctor professionally. there’s enough fun in it, and someone can make enough money to go off and enjoy the other things people might be interested doing in Australia; whether it’s diving on the Great Barrier Reef, seeing the desert or the Top End.
