DPS Media Files from Velocity (Reality) and VelocityQ (Quattrus) Compatible with VelocityHD in Standard-Definition Mode?
Yes. VelocityHD provides playback of .dps media files (using VelocityQ and Velocity’s MJPEG compression) in VelocityHD’s standard-definition mode. Note, however, that VelocityHD uses software codecs for .dps media files, rather than hardware codecs, so real-time performance with these files depends on your host workstation’s CPU performance. If the host workstation cannot achieve full-quality real-time playback, it will provide lower-quality previews, with rendering required for final output. These real-time streams of .dps media can be combined with multiple streams of VelocityHD’s native .ltv video file format, up to a maximum of eight video streams. For maximum performance, .dps media files can be converted (using a free standalone conversion utility available on the Leitch web site) to VelocityHD’s new .ltv video file format and LWC-1 compression format (intraframe compression with its roots in wavelet technology). VelocityQ 9.1 also supports .ltv media files from VelocityHD direct
