Yup. But the Archeopendra has his own agenda. Hes perfectly happy with his own genetics, which he considers perfect. What he wants is alien technology to increase his power and then he wants to wipe out everything else. Thats why, after the infection, the Overborg (as they call themselves) only want to assimilate technological diversity. The biological diversity is dropped from their request. Essentially, they only see humanoids as temporary hosts that allow them to breed their own perfect species.
