Dont paper mills pump out dangerous chemicals?
Not as a rule, no! Were very keen to make sure we dont have a bad impact on the environment. Potential pollutants in pulp and mill effluents mainly come from the natural materials used. Chemicals used in the papermaking process are either bound into the paper, reused or decomposed at the mill. Some are removed using special treatment processes by our team of clever boffins, and we make sure biologically treated outputs are non-toxic. We dont want anything to come back and haunt us – or, more importantly, the natural environment.
