Dont guns just escalate confrontations?
Not if theyre used properly. As someone who carries a firearm, I have been in a few verbal disputes with other individuals while carrying (although less often than before I started carrying). None of these has ever escalated beyond that phase. My pistol is not an argument-winner. Its not there to scare people. Its never brandished or waved about, nor is it carried with anything less than the utmost seriousness. Its purpose is to defend my life or that of my family in the event of the threat of real physical harm or death. Unless that grave danger is imminent, the gun stays concealed. Therefore, it cannot escalate a confrontation.
