Don t we already have reliable energy and low rates?
Thanks to decades of cooperative planning, management and investment in our region s electricity system, Northwest citizens have enjoyed reliable and low-cost electricity for decades. During the past two years, however, rates have increased and reliability has occasionally been threatened largely as a result of the disastrous California restructuring experience. If we are to restore and retain our reliable and affordable electricity resource, we must avoid restructuring experiments that could fail or leave us vulnerable to market abuse.
