Please help! I have a 1 year old border collie/shepherd/lab mix. Since we rescued her at 3 months, she’s been skittish and particularly afraid of people. It has escalated to fear biting in the past, but she’s been gradually becoming less afraid of people, letting people pet her, etc. So, I’ve been really happy that she seems to be becoming more comfortable and confident. Recently however, she has developed a new behavior that has me completely baffled. When we take her to the dog park and there are people there throwing a baseball or a football back and forth, she runs up to them growling, her hackles stand up, and she lunges at their legs like she’s threatening to bite. This is confusing to me, because she’s typically scared of people…not the type to run up to them in the first place. She has recently been showing more herding instincts though. Could this just be her trying to herd people (if so, why are her hackles up)? Is she being territorial about the park (if so, why is she onl
