KCTCS is the place where higher education begins for most Kentuckians. The 16 college system provides opportunities for students to complete the first two years of a baccalaureate degree in an affordable and convenient manner. Last year more than 15,000 KCTCS students transferred to a four-year institution. However, by the year 2014, 83 percent of jobs will require an associate degree or less, the types of degrees provided by KCTCS, according to the Kentucky Department for Workforce Investment Occupational Outlook. KCTCS offers most of the diploma, certificate, and associate degree programs that will be required for the majority of Kentucky’s future workforce.
