Doesn the Mayan calendar end on December 21st, 2012?
No. According to some researchers the Mayan calendar reaches the end of a cycle, and the beginning of a new one, on that date. There is no evidence that the Maya thought that this would be the end of the calendar, or the end of the world. Other researchers feel that the calendar continues using higher order cycles.
