Doesn’t the Huntsman family fund/own the entire Hospital and Institute?
No. HCI is part of the University of Utah and therefore is owned by the State of Utah. HCF receives generous funding from the Huntsman family, including the initial $225 million to build and seed the institute and hospital. One family simply cannot do it alone. In order to sustain the great work of HCI, HCF seeks donations to advance cancer research, education, and treatment programs on an ongoing basis from the local, national, and global community whom we serve.
