Doesn the choice of aircraft also influence the selection of alternate airports?
Obviously there may be airports which a 757 can use which larger twin-engined airliners, such as the A330 or 777, cannot use, even in an emergency. It is believed that the alternate airports used for these maps can accommodate any current twin-engined airliner, and in most cases can even handle a 747-400.
