Doesn the Bible say Satan is prince and power of the air?
The word air in this verse does not mean sky, rather it means to breathe. The word is: aer, pronounced ah-ayr’ from aemi (to breathe unconsciously, i.e. respire; by analogy, to blow); “air” (as naturally circumambient). The word that would have been properly used in this context to mean sky is ouranos, pronounced oo-ran-os’, (through the idea of elevation); the sky; by extension, heaven (as the abode of God). The translators render this word as, “heaven” because heaven was the word for sky used in the Court of King James. This word is actually rendered sky in the following verses: Matthew 16:2 & 3, Luke 12:56, and Hebrews 11:12. Satan’s name is not specifically mentioned and to claim that this one verse could mean that he has control over the skies is about as far as you can stretch the verse and is illogical considering the biblical references to the contrary.
