Doesn it take a lot of energy to create solar panels?

Traditionally, it has taken a lot of energy to create PV panels. Technology has helped out in the form of poly-crystalline panels which are made of a pieces of silicon, not whole slabs that need to be sliced into sections. New production practices are being employed all the time that are bringing that energy coefficient down more. This is also a place where the thermal side shines. The energy needed to build a thermal panel is far less than a PV panels. Regardless, the positives of solar energy far outweigh the negatives.
