CFI London does not make science and reason a “faith position” in the sense that it insists that scientific and/or rational thought and criticism should be applied to everything except science and reason. It may be that reason can reveal that, ultimately, science and reason themselves rest on certain assumptions. However, they are assumptions we all make – indeed, we constantly trust our lives to science and reason. They have an extraordinary track record of revealing the truth. The application of science and reason has utterly transformed our lives over the last four hundred years or so. If we want to know what is true, there is no good reason not to apply them to such topics as religious belief, the paranormal, and so on.
