Doesn freezing hurt the flavor?
Absolutely not. On the contrary, freezing is the most perfect way of preserving meat. Unfortunately, it is also one of the most expensive. Many large providers have been moving away from freezing in favor of chemically treating the meat they sell with various preservatives to increase the shelf life and their corporate bottom line. At SandSpring Ranch, we never use chemicals or preservatives on our meat. And we are small enough to handle each package personally, pack and ship it directly to you. We recommend that you put the beef directly in your freezer until a day or two before use. Start the thawing process slowly by allowing the beef to rest on a plate in it’s original packaging in you refrigerator.
