No. Some of the biggest and most reputable universities in America are guilty of some of the most shameful and fraudulent practices in education. Many of the most reputable schools will attract students with a “Faculty of Stars” in their fields. However, those “Stars” rarely teach classes or grade the papers of their students. The students are often taught by TAs (Teaching Assistants) who are graduate students working towards higher degrees. TAs also grade papers and counsel students. General Education classes are often taught in huge lecture halls with numbers in the hundreds. The General Education classes are often taught by new instructors who may not even call themselves “Professor”. State Colleges and Universities do as well at a fraction of the cost to students. Many Regionally Accredited Universities will tell you that your units are too old, after only a few years, and that you must take classes again.
