Doesn AICC certification prove that a course is good?
No. In fact, the AICC doesn’t even make such a claim as evidenced by their own web site: AICC product certification is NOT an AICC endorsement of that product, proof of that product’s quality, or an indication of that product’s robustness. All that AICC certification really means is that the tests documented (see the “certification statements” listed below) were ran against the product by a disinterested third party picked by the AICC. The bottom line is that certifications from most organizations that certify online learning are almost completely meaningless. They all have different standards and all subscribe to a different view of what is important in an online learning system. That’s why we’ve thrown the standards out the window and created an LMS that is simple and straightforward for both content providers and end users.
