Many of the antidepressants can cause weight gain or loss and everyone reacts differently to medications. Some may gain, while others don’t. You’ll have to try it and see. If you’re having this type of side effect, talk to your doctor about taking something different. There are lots of antidepressants available today.

My wife is on Zoloft and she has not gained any weight, Mirtazapine is the most likely to cause weight gain.

In a clinical trial Zoloft caused weight loss in many of the participants. A few people reported weight gain, but it was only 1 or 2 pounds and your body weight naturally fluctuates more than that.
