Does Yale offer teaching fellowships or scholarship support?
The Graduate School offers the same basic funding package to every student admitted, with five years of funding for all (regardless of whether students are just starting graduate school or have already done graduate work elsewhere). Incoming students will receive three years of stipend support (straight scholarship, no teaching), usually taken in the 1 st, 2 nd, and 5 th years, and two years of teaching fellow support (TAing for literature courses or teaching stand-alone language courses for two years, teaching two courses a semester, usually done in the 3 rd and 4 th years). Incoming students also receive stipendary support for three summers. Throughout their five years, students receive free medical insurance through the Yale Health Plan.
