• For audio hardware go to the ALSA Project Documentation and select your sound card/interface manufacturer from the drop down list and click go to see the support for that device. If your device is not specifically listed on the site it still may be supported if it is based off of a chipset that already supported under ALSA.

• For audio hardware go to the ALSA Soundcard matrix and select your sound card/interface manufacturer from the list and click to see the support for that device. Please keep in mind that the Alsa-website assumes, that you may want to compile the drivers yourself. Such work is NOT neccessary if you use Ubuntu Studio because all recent drivers are installed with your standard installation of Ubuntu Studio. So you can plug every supported device to your computer and it will work. Firewire-interfaces and most newer USB2-Devices need a special software called firmware to work also. Such firmware is provided under Ubuntu Studio by the FFado-system for Firewire and by Alsa firmware loader for USB-devices. If your device is not specifically listed on the site it still may be supported if it is based off of a chipset that already is supported by ALSA.
