Flash memory devices do not have ISP capability because it takes too long to program serially. Q: We have a requirement to flash a Spansion chip (29AL016D-TFI02 48 PIN TSOP48) in a manufacturing environment. This is an in-circuit programming. A: Flash memory devices are not in-circuit programmable directly onto a chip. You might be able to JTAG program if the PCB is designed JTAG compatible. Currently, we are not able to support ISP through JTAG interface.
