Does “XBox Live” on the internet work with a “land line” or is it necessary to have a high speed connection?
Hi BeaG, Unfortunately, Xbox Live (for the original Xbox and the Xbox 360) requires a high-speed, or “broadband” Internet connection. Dial-up won’t work. Bear in mind that you don’t need cable to get a high-speed connection. DSL is fine — and it works through your existing phone lines (and is oftentimes better than cable for XBox Live). I use DSL and have no complaints. The cost is as low as an additional $20 per month depending on where you live and the companies that offer it. See below for some options.
