Does xbox 360 still require a HD DVD external player?
Actually the XBOX 360 can stream 1080p content from several sources, ZUNE, NETFLIX, MEDIA CENTER, etc … HD DVD movies continue to be produced and are both inexpensive and excellent quality. But both media types are doomed; unfortunately by the time the format war had settled down the average consumer had become sufficiently tech saavy enough to figure our direct download and data streaming. HD MEDIA was never an issue for me, I have a couple of hundred DVDs, Philips Upconverter, and the XBOX 360 upconverts from 480p to 720p; I for one have no intention of replacing my collection with bluray just to see a handful of new details. I’d prefer spending my money on the ton of excellent 360 games. Not only are the exclusive titles and DLC fantastic but all of the studios agree that it’s the superior system for playing the cross platform titles. Have a nice day.
