Does WVSB provide vocational training?
Yes, some vocational education courses are an integral part of the high school curriculum at WVSB. These students may explore career opportunities, obtain the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare for a vocation, and have hands-on job experience. Approaches include both classroom study and part-time paid work experiences, on campus or in the community. Prevocational training courses are also provided for elementary junior high students and for multiply handicapped students. Is WVSB an accredited school? Yes. The school is approved by the West Virginia Department of Education. Is the school open all year? No. The school year at WVSB is a standard 200 days, from fall to spring. The exact dates of opening and closing vary slightly each year. WVSB is closed on weekends, holidays, and for summer vacation, during which time all students leave the campus.
