Does WSG support 56kbps modems?
WSG supports V.90 and k56flex on our main modem pool. X2 is still available on a few lines for people with older USR equipment. Keep in mind that just as 33.6k modems to not always connect at 33.6k, 56k modems do not guarantee 56k connection speeds. In fact, even with a 56k connection speed, this is only the speed to your modem, leaving your upload speed at <33.6k. Because of these limitations, if you require faster connection to the internet, then we are currently recommending Time Warner Road Runner. If this is not available at your home, then check with Verizon DSL.
