Does WOW! correlate to the national standards?
Yes. Each lesson identifies the health education and any relevant physical education standards and performance indicators as well as the Standards for the English Language Arts that are addressed by that lesson. In addition, the authors reviewed a variety of examples of English language arts performance outcomes and have identified English language performance indicators for each WOW! lesson. You will thus be able to make a clear connection or demonstrate an overlap between this series and your English language arts lessons. The WOW! scope and sequence is based on the National Health Education Standards. In addition, the National Standards for Physical Education are incorporated in the lessons where appropriate.
