Does WorldTeach offer financial aid, scholarships or loan deferments?
Harvard undergraduates may apply for fellowships (sponsored by the Committee on African Studies and the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies) to cover the costs of WorldTeach summer programs. Please see Harvard Fellowships for more details. Many volunteers have successfully fundraised a significant portion of or even the entire volunteer commitment from friends, family, employers, and foundations. Fundraising invests not only the volunteer, but also the broader community in their experience abroad. Please read more about how to get started. The ability to defer your school loans is very dependent on your specific lender. You should first contact your lender to determine your options. Some lenders allow you to defer when you are volunteering full-time with a charity. If this is the case, then WorldTeach qualifies. Please contact your lender for an application form.
