Does working in two different genres help with the creativity and song writing?
I imagine both require distinctly different approaches. Oh Thanks! I think working in different genres has definitley helped me with my songwriting. Working in Trance music has allowed me to creatively explore a whole different range of emotions. Rock songs can tend to be a little more angsty, and after a while it is easy to get thematiclly boxed in at times. It is great to be able to write about more universal themes. Music is one of the most powerful forms of expression; does Trance provide a different outlet for you than rock? Yeah, most definitley! I have actually found my voice has been changing since singing Trance music, as I am using a lot more high of my higher register and singing with different approaches that wouldn’t fit on a rock record. I have been learning a lot, it’s great! I’m fairly new to Trance music having first been exposed in 2005, since then I’ve never looked back.
