Does work experience with an acupuncturist count in the same way as shadowing an MD?
It’s not about “counting.” What we are looking for is evidence that you have explored a career as an allopathic physician (MD). If you think you want to incorporate acupuncture into your practice as an MD, then shadowing an acupuncturist makes sense but it does not teach you about a career as an MD. You probably need to shadow an MD as well.
