Does WISCORS use GLONASS satellites?
The Russian GLONASS (GLObal Navigation Satellite System) satellites are used as a part of the solutions generated by the WISCORS network. Although, not all base stations are able to receive GLONASS signals, the WISCORS Network utilizes Trimbles Sparse GLONASS technology, which allows RTK rover units capable of tracking GLONASS satellites to receive a GLONASS-corrected solution throughout the entire WISCORS network. (See My RTK rover is able to use GLONASS satellites… below for more information). The number of satellites that a base station is currently tracking can be viewed on the Network Status page of the WISCORS Network Web Server. Note that the stations without GLONASS capability generally track four to five fewer satellites than the stations with GLONASS. This may only be an issue if you wish to post process your data to a single base.
