Does Wireless LAN Virtualization require proprietary client hardware or software extensions?
No. Meru hardware is certified interoperable by the Wi-Fi Alliance and works with every standard 802.11 client. In fact, because it does not rely on clients to make decisions regarding connectivity, it requires less intelligence on the client than other systems do. This makes it more tolerant of older or faulty client devices, just as server virtualization makes servers more tolerant of outdated or buggy software.
