Does Webcasting with LiveChannel Improve Teaching in Distance Learning?.
Virtual learning is growing significantly in importance, but a number of factors put cyberlearners at risk, contributing to the higher dropout rate of distance education. Online participants often voice their concerns about the impersonal aspects of web-based classes. Insufficiently flexible technology and narrow teaching methodologies also contribute to the problem. Heightened social presence has been noted as an important factor in enabling meaningful dialog, an important factor in retaining students and raising learner satisfaction.
