Does WBT Manager use Java in its web interface?
The WBT Manager web application’s user interface is standard HTML, with no Java applets, so there is no problem running it from behind a firewall. The only Java applet used in the WBT Manager web application is the optional SCORM API adapter. This adapter also uses standard HTTP POST requests to communicate with WBT Manager and should present no problems with firewalls. The SCORM API adapter is not required for lessons which use the AICC HACP interface. There is some JavaScript used in the interface to provide certain key functionality. Despite the similarity of names, JavaScript is not Java and does not cause firewall or other problems. WBT Manager CAN, however, launch any user content that can be run in a browser, including items written in Java.
