Does wall or roof insulation disrupt thermal imaging?
It depends on the technology being used at thermal vision device – is it infrared or digital. I have digital thermal vision device ( this http://www.atncorp.com/thermal-night-vision ), as far as am I concerned it is the most powerful technology of nowadays.
Thermal imaging works at the infrared end of the spectrum and gives a visual representation of the heat that bodies give off. An insulating material that keeps heat in therefore blocks thermal imaging of any object behind it. Infrared images of homes show very clearly how heat escapes from the roof, doors and windows. Accordingly, thermal imaging devices show up the difference between homes with good wall or roof insulation and those without.
