Does voodoo work?
Well the thing with voodoo that separates it from other magical types is the chemistry. And yes, modern medicine is baffled by a lot of voodoo rituals. From zombification to healing herbs, they don’t know why it works, but it does. There is a tonne you can read on this. But it’s not as simple as saying if you don’t believe then it won’t work. Not when you are force fed a potion that contains blow fish toxins, among other plants and animal parts. Yes it physically slows the brain, yes it stops the heart to an almost unnoticeable beat rate. Making you appear dead. And yes it literally causes so much brain damage that you appear to be a zombie. This is medical fact. There is much study of these ancient cocktails and many of the ingredients are very much a secret. But medical science does consider voodoo to be frighteningly real.
