Does volkswagen caddy 1.9D have catalytic converter?
I am going to guess that when you say a 1.9 Caddy D, you are talking about a VW Pickup truck or tiny boxvan based off of the Rabbit/Golf platform. (They do not have Caddys in the US. They called it the “Rabbit Pickup”, and it was only out here for a couple of years in the early/mid ’80s). Since you said it was a 1.9L diesel, that means after 1985(Before that they were 1.6L), and “D” and not “TDI”, my guess is that it is before 1995. In that year range, Euro diesel engines were not required to have a catalytic converter. Only with the later TDIs did VW add catalytic converters for diesel engines.
